Estate Planning

Estate Planning is the process of setting forth your last wishes and dictating how you would like your estate distributed. Estate Planning typically utilizes documents, such as Wills and Trusts, to instructed Judges and Successor Trustees, respectively, how you wish your assets would be distributed. We explain in depth the differences between simply creating a Last Will and Testament verses creating a trust and the probate implications of Both. We make sure all clients are comfortable with the approach taken in respect to their Estate Plan and ensure our clients have the knowledge required to make an informed decision on how best to plan for your future.

Powers of Attorney

A power of attorney (POA) is a document that allows you to appoint someone to manage your property, medical, or financial affairs, during your lifetime. Although it can be uncomfortable to think about needing it, a POA is an important part of your estate plan.

Wills

A will is a document that informs a Probate Judge of your wishes including the distribution of your property and the care of any minor children. If you pass without a will, those wishes may not be carried out.

Trusts

To avoid the lengthy process your loved ones will face probating your estate through the courts, we often suggest a Revocable Trust. Trusts are administered by your Trustee not a Probate Court Judge, which saves time and money in the future. This allows for quick distribution of your assets, and limits the legal fees associated with assisting your loved ones through the probate process.
